The
Danish Knight’s Cross winner SS-Obersturmführer Søren Kam photographed
after the presentation of the award. Kam, a veteran of the Wiking
Division, won the Knight’s Cross for bravery during the Wiking’s battles
in Poland’s ‘Wet Triangle’ in front of Warsaw, and was personally
presented by Hitler in February 1945, thus becoming one of the three
Danes to receive this award.
